UN Agencies Continue Functioning in Darfur, government Pledges protect them

UN agencies working in Darfur said they would continue functioning
there normally providing assistance to IDPS. Government on its part
announces readiness to protect UN humanitarian workers in Darfur.
Humanitarian Aid Commissioner in northern Darfur Osman Hassan Abdallah
told (smc) that they met in Fashir with UN agencies working in the
state where they have affirmed those UN workers who left Darfur are not
basic staff. He pointed out that HAC would coordinate with humanitarian
workers to assure access of humanitarian flow reach IDPS.
