Former S. Darfur Governor Undermines Impact of NGOS Pullout from Darfur

Former Southern Darfur state governor Al Haj Atta Al Manan undermines declaration of foreign humanitarian organizations of suspending activities in Darfur. He said foreign NGOS already cut down their assistance since last year. He explained that reports showed that most NGOS working in Darfur directed their resources for administrative activities except UN organizations. Atta Al Manan believes that NGOS pull out of Darfur would unify Sudanese people bearing in mind that only few IDPS are benefiting from NGOS assistance. As for International Criminal court allegations against president Omar Al Bashir Atta Al Manan says such allegation is expected under the ongoing conspiracies targeting Sudanese nation and their country. He cited three UNSC resolutions issued in short period of time against Sudan as evidence that the country is targeted. Moreover, Atta Al Manan pointed out that ICC is apolitical court intends to over throw the current regime after the government established bases of democracy. However, he acknowledges that the government recognizes Darfur crisis and exerts efforts to resolve it in collaboration with political parties in the country
